The author crisscrossed the remote and rural Maharashtra, in July-August 2009, to find out the condition of people there when the rest of Maharashtra was celebrating its Golden Jubilee. The reader will realize that the hills and dales and jungles are not the only inaccessible remote areas but the areas just 10-20 kilometers away from the district head quarters also seem remote and equally inaccessible.
